Early Career Teachers- SEND Resource Base

September 2026 start

(Pay: Teachers’ Main Scale M1-U3 + SEN Allowance)

  • Want to start your career at a high performing school that provides excellent support for ECTs?
  • Want to teach pupils in our specialist SEND provision?
  • Want to work at a school where Ofsted judged our performance as at an ‘outstanding’ level?
  • A school, the Secretary of State who described the school’s academic performance as among the very best nationally.’

We are inviting applications from ECTs who want to start their career teaching in our Resource Base. Our Base caters for 16 pupils with EHC Plans and have joined the Base following being in mainstream provision. You will teach alongside our experienced team of staff. The Base is recently built and well resourced. We offer excellent ECT support through experienced mentors and pair you up to work with year group colleagues who will share their practice with you. Aston Tower has a strong track record for developing ECTs, many of whom have moved on to senior positions at the school or other settings.

Aston Tower is a two-form entry multi-cultural school that serves a community which values and supports our work. The school had a highly successful Ofsted inspection in October 2024 which judged the school to have improved to an ‘outstanding’ level. The school offers specialist support to pupils with Special Educational Needs through our Department for Education (DfE) approved Resource Base that caters for 16 pupils with EHCPs. We have friendly, responsive and enthusiastic children whose attitudes to learning were described as ‘excellent’ by Ofsted, along with their outstanding behaviour. Our staff team is skilled, caring, and committed; trustees are keen to be involved and highly supportive. The school is very well-resourced in well-kept modern premises set in spacious grounds.
